Jeff and Sylvia Gaffney created this website at the suggestion of friends and family to share their humorous travel adventures and photographs. They have been traveling together for 30 years.
Their love of travel brought them together. Their courtship began in the law school financial aid line when Jeff, who had just returned from a study abroad program in Paris, flirtatiously shared his travel experiences with Sylvia.
Following his nomadic advice, she chose to attend Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia, the following summer.
A year later, Jeff embarked on another study abroad, this time in Nairobi, Kenya, where he traveled around Central Africa. He encouraged Sylvia to pursue a study abroad experience as well.
Once they returned home, Jeff and Sylvia became an inseparable team, eventually marrying and launching their law careers to support their insatiable travel passion.
Along the way, they welcomed two children and traveled with them to destinations such as Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, Denmark, England, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia, Thailand, Cambodia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
Collectively, Jeff and Sylvia have traveled to over 60 countries, and later this year, they will visit their seventh continent, Antarctica. They also have many more adventures planned and booked already through 2027.
In 2023, Jeff and Sylvia decided to combine their love for travel with a newfound passion for photography. Although they had been taking snapshots for years, they had never focused on composition, lighting, or technique. To kickstart their new hobby, they enrolled in a photography class at a local university and started participating in photography tours and workshops to enhance their skills while exploring beautiful parts of the world. In a short time, travel photography became an integral part of their lives, leading Sylvia to the easy decision to retire and pursue travel photography full-time.
Sylvia retired in late 2024, while Jeff continues his legal work (for now) but enjoys more flexibility to work from the road. Their photography primarily focuses on travel landscape compositions that transport viewers to the locations they visit, along with occasional candid shots of animals, people, or even each other.
This website doesn’t sell anything. It aims to share humorous short stories about their recent adventures, complemented by some of their best travel photography. The website is intended to share travel photography that takes you to location. In the future, they hope to commercialize certain aspects of their photography, but that will come at a later date through a separate website.
